THE LEGEND OF MILJENKO I DOBRILA

For the 13th year in a row, the City of Kaštela and the Kaštela Tourist Board want to brand Kaštela as the city of love with a diverse program.

The multi-day program opens with a performance of a legend based on the original novel by Marko Kažotić. The script and direction are by Marijana Vulas, who incorporated the Chakavian idiom into the original story, and through elaborate dialogues of the peasants of that time, she presents the life of the old Kaštela residents, the customs of dowry and weddings, traditional songs and dances.

The traditional "Dobrila's Evenings" bring a wealth of excellent music. In honor of the young Dobrila who fought for her love despite social norms, the concert is held by brilliant female vocalists. So far, guests have included Radojka Šverko, Zorica Kondža, Zdenka Kovačiček, Husar sisters, Vanna, Amira Medunjanin, Silente.
